Park(ing) Day / Friday, September 20, 2019
It all started in 2005 in San Francisco with one parking spot. Now, each year on the 3rd Friday in September, cities all over the United States are transformed one parking spot at a time.
“So you cut grass, right?” That’s often the public’s response to what we do here at Cite Design. But landscape architecture, urban design and planning is more than your basic backyard design. Our team of landscape architects and designers create great places – imagining the best of what a space can be by responding to urban design challenges, crafting thoughtful outdoor spaces that foster community, and protecting the natural environment.
For our parklet, we chose to respond to the needs of Jackson Ward. We love this neighborhood we call home, but it is in need of thoughtful streetscapes that respond to the needs of the people – this includes shade, seating, and traffic calming mechanisms to name a few.
Many thanks to our partners who made our parklet possible. Be sure to visit their websites to learn more about them!
