With building details inspired by Richmond’s Fan District, this redevelopment site draws on the city’s historic architecture to evoke a natural, timeless feel that integrates seamlessly with the local neighborhood.
When Monument Square’s construction initially stalled due to the recession, Cite Design worked closely with developers to reinvigorate and reimagine how to build a property with community in mind at every detail. Driven to create an inclusive, innovative living experience, Cite Design focused on building community through human-centered design, communal gathering spaces, ample amenities, and inspiring landscape features.
At the heart of it all is Shaffer Hall—a clubhouse surrounded by a mix of hardscape and inviting lawn areas—that acts as a central gathering space for residents to relax, come together, and enjoy access to the all the property has to offer.
